Katarína Štulrajterová Ph.D.I graduated in Archives and History at University of Comenius in Bratislava and in Lettere Moderne at ”La Sapienza” University in Rome. In 2002, I was awarded with a Ph.D. in Mediaeval Ecclesiastical History at Comenius University after I defended my doctoral thesis, "The Hungarian Policy of Gregory IX with a Special Focus on the Territory of Slovakia (1227-1241)". From 1996 until 2004 I was employed as a Researcher in Slovak Mediaeval History at the Historical Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. Following a decision of the Academic Board of the University of Péter Pázmany in Hungary in January 2004 I was given 'venia legendi' and held a course "The History of Mediaeval Universities". In 2005 I was invited to join the staff of the Vatican Library where I remained for three years; during this time I also studied at the Vatican School of Library Science. I have performed various researches in the Archives of Slovakia, Hungary, Italy and the Vatican City which I published and presented both in Slovakia and abroad. I have also collaborated on different projects concerned with Slovak mediaeval history and Slovak-Hungarian-Italian relationships. My main areas of interest are Central European History, History of Mediaeval and Modern Universities, the Mediaeval Papacy, Palaeography, Diplomatic Science and the Codices as well as the History of Archives and Libraries. |
